As we discovered this week, crack fic is fun. enharmonies made Carl a mermaid and I wrote kid fic about Peter & Carl and a nativity play together. Two people had fic with violence and 1daftpunk wrote Peter & the Sorting Hat. You can read all these small fics in this entry. You can also join in with the unwritten prompts, should you so wish. However, since it's still the season, this is a new prompts post. You may post the same prompts as last week, or you may use new ones. Things I wonder about instead of writing my term paper [09 Dec 2009|06:35pm] dptband [enharmonies] Was it ever established what the lyric "I can't rate-rape myself" in "If You Love a Woman" means? I'd always assumed it was a linguistic idiosyncrasy on Carl's behalf but I was listening to Mumford & Sons' "Little Lion Man" and it contains the lyric, "Rate yourself and rape yourself, take all the courage you have left" [rest of lyrics here] Is it therefore an actual English idiom??? ETA: A kind person on Youtube has informed me that it means "to judge oneself whilst being overly critical." ( Have some Young & Stupid to make up for the srs bzns ) 1 comment|post comment
